During the summer of 2025, Trailguide has become a paid app, and free usage has been limited to a daily time quota of 5 minutes. Your time will reset at midnight, however, you can close the dialog to get another 30 seconds of usage.

Why is this?

The main reason is to make sure that Trailguide can continue to be developed, maintained, and run smoothly for all users. The software has real, ongoing costs for servers, databases, maps, translations, error reporting, backups and more.

By charging a monthly or yearly subscription fee, the costs are covered, and it enables me to focus on developing new features and improving the app.

Get one week unlimited access

To get one week of unlimited access to Trailguide, simply sign in to the app if you haven't done so yet. After the week is over, you can purchase a subscription to continue using the app without any limits.

A fair solution

I think the solution of a daily time limit is a fair one. No content is hidden behind a pay-wall. All users can access information about trails, access the maps, and use navigation features.

Power users will need to subscribe to continue using the app without limits, and they ensure that the app can continue to be developed, maintained and run smoothly. I promise you, it will give you a warm and fuzzy feeling.

Limited access to some features

Some of the features, such as downloading .gpx-files and adding content to custom lists are limited to users with a subscription. You can still download the .gpx-files for any content you have added yourself.
